Ahmed Moneka is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in acting for theatre and film, as well as Afro-Middle Eastern music. He is a citizen of Canada and Iraq, and is currently based in Toronto.
Having grown up in Baghdad, Iraq, Ahmed was exposed to a rich intellectual culture connected to theater, film, and television. In Basra, he immersed himself in a musical environment that celebrated and preserved Afro-Iraqi Sufi traditions. As an artist, he seeks to promote acceptance and foster a sense of global community by building bridges between cultures and deconstructing preconceived notions about Arab communities.
