A key figure in the Quebec music scene as a singer-songwriter, Marie-Pierre Arthur has enjoyed public love, critical acclaim, and genuine recognition from her peers since her debut.
In 2009 she released her first self-titled album. This was followed by Aux alentours in 2012, Si l'aurore in 2015 and Des feux pour voir in 2020. In 2021, Dans tes rêves - an EP of 5 songs from her repertoire completely "re-edited" and recorded live - arrived in the wake of a concert film of the same title, a large-scale project that plunges the viewer into Marie-Pierre's head and discovers a dreamlike world.
Throughout her career, she has garnered a dozen nominations at the ADISQ Gala. Her albums *Si l'aurore* and *Des feux pour voir* won Félix Awards for Album of the Year in 2015 and 2020, respectively. *Des feux pour voir* also received the award for Critics' Choice Album. Marie-Pierre has also been awarded the SPACQ's Dédé-Fortin Prize, her song "Pourquoi" received the SOCAN Popular Song Award, and she was awarded the Coup de cœur by the Académie Charles-Cros in 2020. Her albums have frequently appeared on the Polaris Prize longlist and have been nominated for JUNO Awards.
For her fifth album, she approached songwriting differently, reshuffled the deck, and added new musicians. The album, L'Album bleu, was released in August 2024! Almost a year later, she unveils Album bleu – Deluxe, featuring three bonus tracks and a new song that showcase gentleness and vocal harmonies.
